Peace Lily Plants as Gifts

The Peace Lily is a stunning plant with dark green leaves. It will produce a white blooms once or twice a year. Usually the plant will bloom in the spring and I have found that the Peace Lily makes a wonderful Easter gift.

The Peace Lily is easy to propagate. Once a year, I remove the plant from the pot and break the plant up into two or three plants. These plants are then transplanted into new pots. I use a good quality potting soil for house plants.

I like shopping at thrift stores for plant holders. I will buy the basic liners at a hardware store but I have been lucky enough to find great finds at thrift stores. Some of these pots can be painted and personalized. Makes for something fun to do with kids or grandkids.

Generally, the peace lily holds a great deal of symbolism for people who are ill or recovering from an illness. I have given this plant to dear friends when they have lost a loved one in their family. Personally, the peace lily is a symbol of comfort and hope. I have one near the window of my living room. It gives the room a sense of peace and calm.
